FAQs

What the heck is forest honey? What does it taste like? Why are you doing this? All of your questions answered and more!

Honey !?

What kinds of honey do you offer?

We offer a variety of honey flavours, including Wild Honeydew Forest Honey, Miombo Blossom Honey, Hot Honey, Cinnamon & Honey, and Cacao & Honey.

What is the difference between the flavours of honey?

The base of all flavours are raw honey. Hot Honey is raw honey with organic chilies and organic vinegar, Cinnamon & Honey is raw honey with organic cinnamon, and Cacao & Honey is raw honey with organic cacao nibs.

What makes your honey different?

Our honey has a unique, delicious taste because of its origins in the Miombo forests of southern Africa. With hints of floral, caramel, and a rich robust flavour – you'll find it makes everything better!

What is raw honey?

Think of raw honey as honey in its natural form where it contains all of its rich compounds and nutrients along with vital enzymes. It gives it a thicker, more textured consistency than processed honey. Grocery store honey may be pasteurized by applying high heat which destroys most of its beneficial properties.

What sizes are available for your honey products?

Our honey products are available in both 350g/12.3oz and 50g/1.76oz glass jars.

How is your honey produced?

Our beekeepers use natural, chemical-free methods to manage their forest hives, and the honey is harvested and processed without the use of pasteurization to preserve the natural flavours and nutrients.

How are your honey products made?

Our honey is collected by our beekeepers using sustainable methods. The raw honey is then sent to Ontario, Canada then brought to our facilities in Cardinal to be bottled. This is also where we create our various delicious flavours such as Hot, Cinnamon, and Cacao & Honey.

Is your honey organic?

Yes, Our honey is certified organic by EcoCert. No pesticides, no chemicals. Just pure, high-quality, real honey.

Do you add any artificial additives or flavours to your products?

No, absolutely zero artificial additives or flavours.

How should I use your honey products?

Our honey products are versatile and can be used in a variety of ways, including as a sweetener in hot beverages, as a spread on toast or other foods, and as an ingredient in baking and cooking. For health and beauty, natural honey used as lip balm is a terrific moisturizer and it’s a great way to soothe a sore throat. These are just a few ways but simply put, it tastes great!

Can I use your honey as a sweetener in recipes?

Yes, you absolutely can use our honey as an alternative to other sugar products. Please keep in mind that heating honey over 40°C (104 F) will cause it to lose its beneficial compounds and destroys important enzymes.

How should I store your honey products?

To reduce the crystallization process keep the honey at room temperature.

Is your honey safe for infants and young children?

While honey is a natural and healthy food, it should not be given to infants under one year of age due to the risk of botulism.
