Beeswax Firestarter's are an ideal eco-friendly option to effectively start a fire during your next camping trip. They are fun and easy to make, using items you can find in and around your home. They last between 10-15 minutes when lit and placed underneath your kindling.
What you will need:
- Beeswax Block
- Egg carton
- Pine cones
- Candle Wick
- Dried Pine branches
- Pot
Instructions:
- Cut an egg carton in half and fill the bottom with pinecones and dried pine branches. Add candle wicks in the center; you might need to rearrange your dried material to ensure they stick straight out of the egg carton about 3 inches. I found wrapping the wick around the pine cone worked splendidly.
- Melt the Beeswax Block in a pot. Once melted, pour to fill the egg carton to the top. Set aside to cool and harden.
- Tear the egg carton into individual fire starters. Store in a cool, dry place until you're ready to pack for your next camping trip!
