Crostini Creations: 6 Ways to Enjoy Honey and Ricotta

Simple appetizers with ricotta and honey

Whether you adore finger foods or have guests to impress, these versatile crostini recipes are just for you. They offer a delightful exploration of the different flavors of our honey collection. The consistent use of ricotta ensures both simplicity and deliciousness. Ricotta's light, creamy texture and subtle flavor make it an excellent option. Each recipe incorporates honey into the ricotta for enhanced taste and texture. 

Crostini Base:

Start by preparing a crostini base. Slice a sourdough baguette, drizzle it with olive oil, and bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes. 

Hot Honey tomato roasted crostini:

      • Preheat the oven to 300°F.
      • Roast cherry tomatoes with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Hot Honey, salt, and pepper for 1.5 hours.
      • Let the roasted tomatoes cool, then spread them over the ricotta on the crostini.
      • Optional: Add arugula microgreens for freshness and top with drizzled honey.

Miombo Blossom Honey roasted pear crostini:

      • Slice pears in half.
      • Brush the pear halves with room temperature butter and drizzle with Miombo Blossom Honey.
      • Roast at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
      • Once cooled, thinly slice the pears and place them on the honey ricotta-topped crostini.

Honeydew Forest Honey truffle crostini:

      • Spread your favourite truffle paste over the ricotta on the crostini.
      • Drizzle Honeydew Forest Honey for an extra layer of sweetness.

Cacao and Honey strawberry mint crostini:

      • Slice fresh strawberries.
      • Garnish with mint leaves.
      • Drizzle with Cacao and Honey and place over the ricotta on the crostini.

Cinnamon Honey walnut apple crostini:

      • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
      • Toss walnuts in Cinnamon and Honey.
      • Bake for 12-15 minutes.
      • Thinly slice an apple and place it on the ricotta-covered crostini.
      • Top with the cinnamon honey walnuts, and drizzle with Honey.

Julbernardia Honey smoked salmon crostini:

      • Mix Julbernardia Honey, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
      • Brush this mixture onto your favourite cold smoked salmon.
      • Let it sit in the fridge for 24 hours to infuse the flavours.
      • Place the salmon on the crostini and optionally drizzle more Honey on top.
      • Optional: Make a crispy infused smoked salmon by pan searing for 3 minutes over high heat.
